During my recent cruise aboard the Carnival Legend 5268, I had the opportunity to stay in an aft cabin, which has always been a favorite of mine for its stunning views and unique features. In this detailed review, I will share my thoughts on the cabin, highlighting five things I liked and five things I didn’t like about the cabin. Let’s dive right in.

Six Things I Liked:

1. Spacious Living Area and Bathroom: One of the first things that struck me about my aft cabin was the ample space it offered. The living area and bathroom were both surprisingly roomy, making it easy to move around without feeling cramped.

2. Abundance of Storage: For a cruise cabin designed for two people, there was no shortage of storage options. Drawers, closets, cabinets, and shelves were plentiful, allowing us to neatly stow away all our belongings.

3. Comfortable Sofa: The sofa in the cabin was large enough for two people to sit comfortably, providing a cozy spot for relaxation and enjoying the in-room amenities.

4. Well-Appointed Amenities: Most of the cabin’s amenities met our expectations. The TV was of an adequate size, the in-room safe provided security for our valuables, and the refrigerator kept our drinks cool, even though it wasn’t very deep for storing dishes.

5. Luxurious Bed: Perhaps the highlight of the cabin was the bed. It was incredibly comfortable, with smooth sheets and an abundance of pillows. I could have easily spent the entire day lounging in bed, enjoying the tranquility of the ship.

The Absolute Best: Aft View: The crowning jewel of our aft cabin was the expansive balcony that provided breathtaking views. It reminded me of a previous cruise to Alaska, where I had a similar aft cabin experience, sailing through picturesque fjords.

Six Things I Didn’t Like:

1. Slow Hairdryer: The hairdryer in the cabin was disappointingly slow, taking a frustrating 20 minutes to dry my hair by only 50%. I’d recommend bringing your own hairdryer to avoid delays.

2. Aging Decor: While the cabin was comfortable, it showed signs of aging, such as a chipped table, faded couch, and wear and tear around the desk area. It could benefit from a renovation to bring it up to date.

3. Ineffective Air Conditioning: The air conditioning in the cabin left much to be desired. It struggled to maintain a comfortable temperature, and on some nights, it became uncomfortably warm. I ended up bringing a small fan to help cool the room.

4. Water Quality: The sink in the bathroom had water quality issues, with unpleasant water sometimes spitting out and frequent clogs, which was far from ideal.

5. Lack of Bedside Sockets: The absence of electrical sockets near the bed was a nuisance. I had to use an extension cord to keep my phone charged overnight, which posed a tripping hazard when navigating to the bathroom in the dark.

Shower Curtain Woes: Another minor inconvenience was the shower curtain that often clung to me during showers, which wasn’t the most pleasant experience.

Conclusion:

My stay in the aft cabin on the Carnival Legend 5268 had its ups and downs. While the cabin offered a spacious living area, ample storage, and a breathtaking aft view, it also had its share of issues, including an aging decor, ineffective air conditioning, and some inconveniences like the slow hairdryer and lack of bedside sockets.

I understand that the ship may be going through refurbishments, but I’m uncertain if the cabins are part of this update. Overall, if you’re considering booking an aft cabin on the Carnival Legend, it’s essential to weigh the pros and cons to determine if it aligns with your preferences and priorities for a cruise experience.
